There is not much known regarding the accuracy of inertial sensors of smart phone devices, although it is of great importance for the results and behavior of sensor-based applications. SensMark analyzes the measured sensor data and evaluates it, hence SensMark is able to benchmark the qualification of a sensor for precise measuring.
The SensMark application was developed by Andreas Gabel during his work on his bachelor thesis at the Systems Security chair of Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany). In a following research project he worked together with Lennart Lorenz on enhancing the application’s functionality, creating this website and on the evaluation of the acquired results.
